Integrating an AI-based voice modification feature into an existing product

AI voice modification
reverb.chat
Reverb was an existing real-time communication product built around recording and sending voice messages. The goal was to extend this core interaction with AI-based capabilities, without changing how users fundamentally recorded or shared voice notes.

Challenge

The challenge was to introduce voice modification features into an established flow without making the experience heavier or more complex than the original “record and send” interaction.

Our work included

user flow mapping
UX/ui design
testing
development
feature integration
Key questions were
  • When voice modification should happen in the flow?
  • How much control users needed without overwhelming them?
  • How to surface advanced options without interrupting the core interaction?
Main Focus
We focused on keeping voice messaging as the primary action, while allowing users to modify their recordings when needed.
The feature set included:
  • Changing the recorded voice
  • Generating a transcription
  • Training and applying a custom voice
The Outcome
Voice modification features were designed as optional steps attached to the existing voice note flow, rather than as a separate or parallel experience.

Users could continue recording voice messages as before, while gaining access to advanced AI features only when they chose to use them. The product expanded its capabilities without altering its core behavior.

We had an existing web app for voice recordings that needed a complete redesign and new features. The team was efficient and delivered exactly what we needed, completing an entire overhaul using the latest frameworks. Highly recommend
